Google Me: Personalised Search

There have been a lot of recent posts about how Google Search is changing.  The bottom line is that the search results you see when you are logged in to Google will be different to the search results that anyone else will see, unless you have personalised search results turned off.  It is fairly easy to turn off personalised search results following the instructions from Google as demonstrated the video below:

A quick and easy alternative to see which search results might show up for your chosen search terms is to use a search engine like DuckDuckGo, which I frequently use to 'google' myself and perform other key searches. I think this is important as it picks up results that don't always show up in the main results from Google or Bing.  DuckDuckGo's privacy policy is well worth a read, as it explains the importance of search privacy in clear and succinct terms.
